The new normal. What effect has the social distancing of 1.5 meter distance for your dance school?

Edit on June 30th 2020: I am happy to report that the problems I foresaw in this article are not things to worry about anymore. The Dutch government gave out new measurements. Which we will start with as of July 1st. Luckily for us, the government came to the conclusion that for the dance sector it would be impossible to proceed with earlier given regulations.

Dance schools will be allowed to teach dance indoors again as of July 1st. And there is even an exemption of keeping the 1,5 meter distance to each other during class. Children up to 13 years old do not have to keep the 1,5 meter distance. Youngsters up to 18 years old are allowed to mingle among themselves, but have to keep a distance to adults.

So, problem 1 and 2 are solved by relieving the 1,5 meter rule in a class or rehearsal situation. As for problem NR. 3. Theaters will be allowed to receive up to 100 people in their accommodation. Which is not full capacity yet, but a start.

I will leave this blogpost up though. See it as an exercise in creative thinking. Coming up with solutions when you have specific parameters for a problem.
